The Matt Helm Work Knife V1 is a fixed blade EDC knife built around a wharncliffe blade. Based on Matt Helm's Work Knife design, it carries his attention to detail and usability in an accessible package. With a 7.4-inch overall length and 3.3-inch cutting edge, this compact fixed blade handles daily tasks, food prep, and hard use without the moving parts of a folding knife.
Steel Options
The Work Knife V1 is available in CPM 3V, Magnacut, or 80CrV2 steel. CPM 3V delivers exceptional toughness for hard use and is heat treated to 60 HRC. Magnacut is a premium stainless steel that offers corrosion resistance and edge retention at 63 HRC. 80CrV2 is a high carbon steel known for toughness and easy sharpening, heat treated to 60 HRC.
Blade finishes include tumbled, nitride, PVD, and DLC options. These finishes provide different appearances while helping protect the blade from wear and corrosion.
Sheath & Carry Options
Every Work Knife V1 pairs with a precision-formed kydex sheath for secure carry and quick access. Select from standard, taco-style sheath, or deep carry configurations. Attachment options include belt clips, pocket clips, and belt loop hardware for pocket carry or belt carry.
A handcrafted leather sheath is also available for traditional belt carry. Replacement scales let you customize the grip on your fixed blade.

This knife is great , this has great economics. The handle design in the Warrencliffe style blade gives me excellent control of the extremely sharp magnacut blade. Especially when cutting through dense plastic drainage pipe I use this blade every single day most days are Sandy gritty wet or dusty. No loose handle scales allowing debris to get under them. The fit and finish is great. You cannot expect anything better. this is a hard use work tool and it will perform as such. I have used it to cut solid copper wire by hitting the back of the spine to force the sharp edge through the copper on the concrete floor at Lowe’s. I have cut 100s of feet. Of 4 inch and 6 inch corrugated drain pipe, countless feet of landscape fabric irrigation wire even used it to shave aluminum off of an aluminum fence gate to get the hinge to fit better. I use it to prepare food snack snacks open boxes I could not recommend this blade more if you are only fence because of the price because of the size I guarantee you will not regret buying it perfect size perfect control. I wear this blade in the scout carry position. Just left of my belt buckle. Their customer service is outstanding. Had a few questions for them and sent them an email literally got back to me within an hour answered all of my questions and even got a quick response after I ask another question off-topic very willing to help their customers, this is a very professional operation. I appreciate this company. Wish I could show pictures on here
It's a work knife, food knife, camp knife, defense knife. Holds an edge. Steel is thicker than any other blade I've purchased. Made in USA, by a couple awesome dudes who believe in the American dream. The sheath is quality kydex, many carry options. Money well spent. Buy one, or several. Your grandkids will thank you.

WK V1 is an all time favorite! It’s the can do anything blade, from processing big game to EDC tasks. This one gets the most use out of the many Dauntless Mfg blades I own.

Knife is excellent! I had some concerns about how well it would slice and that it would bind in thick rope due to its blade thickness. There is wizardry in the blade profile and I am happy to report this stout little EDC blade can hang with some of the best rope wrenches I’ve used. Make sure you purchase the deep carry sheath you won’t regret it🔪
