The Pineland F.I.D.O.
The Pineland F.I.D.O. is a purpose-driven configuration of our F.I.D.O. multi-tool, produced as part of the Pineland Series. Compact, serialized, and built for real-world utility, it reflects the same values of adaptability, resilience, and functional toughness that define both the F.I.D.O. platform and the history that inspired the Pineland name.
Built on the same ergonomic profile as the Hiker platform and compatible with all Hiker scales, the F.I.D.O. stands fully on its own as a compact, do-everything tool. In Pineland configuration, it prioritizes durability and serviceability over cosmetic finish.
Ferro. Impact. Driver. Opener.
The F.I.D.O. name reflects its core functions. It is designed for fire starting, light prying and impact work, screw driving, scraping, opening, and general utility. Depending on configuration, it may be run sharpened or unsharpened, allowing it to function either as a micro-blade or as a non-cutting utility tool.

The Meaning of Pineland
At Dauntless Manufacturing, we are proud to call Central North Carolina home. The Pineland Series draws its name from Pineland, the fictional country used during the Robin Sage exercise—an advanced and demanding military training event conducted for over 70 years in the region surrounding our workshop.
Robin Sage is the culminating exercise for candidates seeking to earn the Green Beret and join the U.S. Army Special Forces. The exercise takes place across rural Central North Carolina, primarily in and around Fort Bragg, where candidates are immersed in a multi-week unconventional warfare scenario.
Within this exercise, Pineland is brought to life across real towns, farmland, and forests, with local residents serving as role players. Candidates must operate under pressure, adapt to uncertainty, and work alongside unconventional forces to accomplish complex missions. It is a test of judgment, endurance, leadership, and adaptability.
Introducing the Pineland Series
The Pineland Series is a serialized, limited-production configuration created as a tribute to this legacy and to the region that has played host to generations of Special Forces training.
Each Pineland F.I.D.O. represents a small percentage of overall production. These tools feature 5160 steel, selected for its toughness and shock resistance, and left without post heat-treat finishing. Scales are machined from 6061 aluminum and anodized in a color case-hardened aesthetic. Sheaths are woodland camo Kydex, outfitted with a Discreet Carry Concepts clip.
All Pineland tools are serialized in a continuous series. Serial numbers do not repeat across models, ensuring each piece remains uniquely identifiable within the Pineland lineage.
Exclusivity
The blade steel, finishes, scale materials, and sheath configuration of the Pineland F.I.D.O. are exclusive to the Pineland Series. These components are not available separately and will not be offered outside this configuration.
Purpose-Built to Work
From striking a ferro rod and tightening hardware to scraping, prying, and opening a cold drink at the end of the day, the Pineland F.I.D.O. is a compact, adaptable tool built to perform under real conditions—reflecting the same mindset of resourcefulness and reliability that defines Pineland itself.
