Handle Hardware and Sizing by Model
In 2022, Dauntless Manufacturing adopted Gulso bolts as the standard hardware for our knife handles, reflecting our commitment to precision and reliability. These bolts are sourced from Maker Material Supply, a trusted provider of high-quality knife-making components. Gulso bolts are crafted from durable stainless steel and are available in a variety of finishes, including polished stainless, tumbled, and QPQ Black Nitride for enhanced durability and corrosion resistance. They feature a 1/4" diameter and utilize a T20 Torx drive, ensuring secure assembly and ease of maintenance. The chart below details the specific Gulso bolt sizes—standard, short, and micro—used in the handle construction of each knife model in our lineup.
Handles manufactured prior to our transition to Gulso bolts in 2022 can be identified by their construction, which features a female threaded post on one side of the handle and a countersunk socket head screw on the opposite side. In contrast, Gulso bolts are symmetric, offering a streamlined and uniform appearance, with both sides of the knife handle looking identical. This update not only improves the visual appeal of our knives but also ensures easier maintenance and replacement of hardware.
