The Hiker F.I.D.O. - Dauntless Manufacturing

The F.I.D.O. Multi Tool

The Hiker F.I.D.O. is a function multi tool built on the same ergonomic profile as the Hiker knife series. At 6.7 inches overall and 3.2 ounces, this edc tool fits comfortably alongside your pocket knife or outdoor gear. The ferro rod notch produces consistent sparks for fire starting. The flat head screwdriver tip doubles as a light-duty pry bar and can function as a chain breaker when needed. Four integrated wrench flats handle 1/2 inch, 3/8 inch, 1/4 inch, and 3/16 inch fasteners for easy access to common hardware on everything from outdoor gear to a bike. Sharpenable versions include a 1.3 inch micro-blade for cutting tasks.

Materials and Configurations

The F.I.D.O. is available in multiple materials to match your use case. Sharpenable knife steels include AEB-L, CPM 3V, Magnacut, and S7 for users who want a high-quality tool with cutting capability. Non-ferrous options like brass, bronze, titanium, and aluminum provide premium tool alternatives for those who prefer unsharpened utility versions. The EOD F.I.D.O. uses beryllium copper for nonmagnetic and nonsparking performance in sensitive environments. The Pineland F.I.D.O. features 5160 carbon steel with 6061 aluminum scales and woodland camo Kydex sheath in a serialized limited configuration.

  • The EOD F.I.D.O.

Built in North Carolina

Every F.I.D.O. multi tool is manufactured in our Central North Carolina facility using precision CNC machining and professional heat treatment. The Pineland series draws its name from the fictional country used during Robin Sage, the culminating exercise for candidates earning the Green Beret. This region has hosted generations of Special Forces training, and the Pineland F.I.D.O. pays tribute to that legacy with serialized production and exclusive materials. All Dauntless edc tools are backed by a lifetime warranty with shipping available nationwide.

FAQs

What does F.I.D.O. stand for?

Sharpenable versions include a 1.3 inch micro-blade and function as both a multi tool and small fixed blade. Utility versions in non-ferrous materials are unsharpened and do not include a cutting edge.

What wrench sizes are built into the F.I.D.O.?

The F.I.D.O. includes four integrated wrench flats: 1/2 inch, 3/8 inch, 1/4 inch, and 3/16 inch. These handle common fastener sizes for gear adjustments and field repairs.

Can I use Hiker knife scales on the F.I.D.O.?

Yes. The F.I.D.O. shares the same ergonomic profile as the Hiker knife series and is compatible with all Hiker Scales for handle customization.

What makes the EOD version different?

The EOD F.I.D.O. is manufactured from beryllium copper, which is nonmagnetic and nonsparking. It is designed for sensitive environments where steel tools are inappropriate or prohibited. This version is supplied unsharpened and should never be ground or sanded.

What is included with the Pineland F.I.D.O.?

The Pineland F.I.D.O. includes 5160 carbon steel construction, anodized 6061 aluminum scales, and a woodland camo Kydex sheath with Discreet Carry Concepts clip. Each unit is serialized in a continuous series that does not repeat across models.

Does the F.I.D.O. include pliers or cutting tools?

The F.I.D.O. is not a plier kit or diagonal cutter. It focuses on fire starting, prying, driving, and opening rather than gripping or wire cutting. Sharpenable versions include a micro-blade for light cutting tasks.
