The Donner Party Hiker is a limited-edition take on our Hiker Tanto, built for Blade Show and finished with all the subtlety of a frontier survival story gone sideways.

This version starts with an AEB-L stainless tanto blade, then gets pushed deep into aged, weathered territory. Each blade was individually patinaed, giving every knife its own one-off finish. No two are the same. Some look dark and worn, some look stained by hard use, and all of them look like they were recovered from the ruins of a very bad winter.

The scales are solid brass, aggressively textured, and heavily patinaed. The finish ranges wildly from dark brown and blackened brass to blue-green verdigris, exposed gold tones, and everything in between. These are not clean, polished brass scales. They are heavy, nasty, uneven, and intentionally overbuilt.

The added brass gives the Donner Party Hiker a much heavier feel than a standard Hiker. It is still the same compact, capable knife platform, but with a denser, more substantial presence in the hand.

Each knife comes with a dark brown Kydex sheath and a leather “Donner Party ’46” patch.

This was a limited Blade Show release. Once they are gone, they are gone.

Notes

Due to the nature of the patina process, every Donner Party Hiker will vary significantly in color, tone, and finish. Brass scales may show brown, black, blue-green, brass/gold, and mixed oxidation patterns. These variations are intentional and are part of the character of the knife.

The brass scales also make this knife noticeably heavier than a standard Hiker.
